Keep noise to a minimum in internal walls and separating floors with 25mm Knauf Acoustic Partition Rolls (APR). Made with glass mineral wool fibres and bound together using Knauf Insulation's innovative ECOSE Technology; these rolls promise a softer feel and a pleasant handling experience.
The 1200mm width rolls are manufactured to a minimum density of 10Kg/m3 and feature perforations to create 4 x 600mm rolls. They also achieve an impressive fire rating of A1 non-combustible.
25mm Earthwool Acoustic Sound Insulation Roll Applications
Earthwool acoustic roll does a cracking job of absorbing sound, whilst also improving the thermal and fire performance of walls, floors and partitions. Earthwool Acoustic Roll is specifically designed for friction fitting between joists and studs at 600mm centres to reduce noise transmission in separating walls and floor, internal walls and floors and timber and metal stud partitions.
25mm Earthwool can be used in the following construction types:
- Separating walls and floors
- Internal walls and floors
- Timber and metal stud partitions
25mm Earthwool Acoustic Sound Insulation Specifications
25mm Earthwool acoustic rolls are made from robust glass mineral wool. The glass wool manufacturing process creates a product with a random fibre structure which traps thousands of air pockets; these air pockets essentially 'catch' the sound as it passes through, reducing noise transmission.
25mm Knauf acoustic rolls are pre-perforated for 4 x 600mm rolls to allow quick and economic installation between standard timber studs and the joists of internal floors.
Let's have a look at the specs:
- Excellent sound absorption characteristics provide high levels of sound reduction
- Friction fits between studs and closes joints to ensure sound insulation performance is achieved
- Roll format allows fast installation
- Ready-cut rolls for use with timber studs at 600mm centres
- Euroclass Reaction to Fire Classification (A1-F): A1
- Proven test results with all major brands of plasterboard to provide assured compliance with sound-related building regulations

Handling & Storage Earthwool Acoustic Roll
Acoustic Roll is easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easily cut to size. It is supplied in polythene packs which are designed for short term protection only. When it comes to storage, we advise that you store the slabs inside; keeping them nice and dry.
25mm Knauf Earthwool Acoustic Performance
Sound waves travel through materials in vibrations. If your walls and floors are not insulated, there are very few barriers for the sound waves to get through. The more layers the vibrations have to travel through, the fewer that will make it into the next room. The rolls have a minimum density of 10kg/m3, and this manufactured density meets standards for robust detail separating floors and walls.
