Streamline your insulation project with 52.5mm Celotex PL4040 Insulated Plasterboard: a 2-in-1 insulation and drylining board that combines the low-heat transfer properties of PIR with the structural integrity of plasterboard.
Comprising a high-performance PIR insulation board bonded to tapered edge plasterboard, the sheets feature a narrow edge profile, making them the perfect wall insulation choice. Not only will the joints become invisible under paint, but the even surface also provides a smooth background for tiles.
52.5mm Celotex PL4040 insulation can be installed in a range of building applications, from the internal side of solid masonry walls to under and between rafters and joists.
The 52.5mm refers to the overall thickness (both the insulation board (25mm) and plasterboard (12.5mm) elements bonded together). The 52.5mm Celotex PL4040 is BBA certified as a thermal laminate, and can be used in both existing domestic and non-domestic buildings. As well as providing thermal efficiency, it can also help to limit the risk of surface condensation.
52.5mm Celotex PL4040 Insulated Plasterboard Applications
PL4040 insulated plasterboards allow maximum installation speed and maximum flexibility. PL4040 is suitable for pitched roof and wall applications in both new build and refurbishment projects and drastically reduces installation time, providing insulation and plasterboard in one operation.
You can either use mechanically fixed installation techniques or the direct bonding dot and dab method, which involves direct bonding to the masonry wall.
PL4040 can easily be used to help upgrade to current building regulation standards in:
- Pitched roofs
- Flat roof and wall applications
- Internal solid wall insulation
- The 'underneath' layer of insulation in between and under rafter and joist applications
- Timber frame lining applications
52.5mm Celotex Insulated Plasterboard Specifications
PL4040 2-in-1 insulated plasterboard combines all the thermal benefits of PIR (polyisocyanurate) with plasterboard drylining. With an impressively low thermal conductivity value of 0.022 W/mK, PIR boards are easily one of the best insulators on the market. As well as providing thermal insulation, the rigid polyisocyanurate insulation and plasterboard elements represent an easy-to-install solution that is in line with current building regulation standards.
Let's check the specs:

52.5mm Celotex PL4040 Storage
The boards are supplied in polythene-wrapped packs. Each pack contains a label bearing the manufacturer’s name, board dimensions and the BBA logo.
The boards must be protected from prolonged exposure to sunlight and moisture and should be stored inside, undercover and protected with opaque polythene sheeting. The boards should be stacked flat and raised above ground level (to avoid contact with ground moisture).
